Sick Baby
My daughter came down with a cold on Tuesday evening, my husband picked her up from school and on the way home she fell asleep (5:30p.m.)We took her inside, layed her on the sofa and I tried for 2 hours to wake her up for dinner, but I could tell she wasn't feeling well because she kept sleeping. We moved her upstairs to her bed and she slept from 5:30 until 6:30 the following morning...13 hours!! I knew right then that she was sick. On Wednesday, she woke up with a mild fever, glossy eyes and had a runny nose, cough. My husband went to the store with her around 8:30a.m. and when they got inside the store, she threw-up all over him. He took her back home and layed her down. She had a severe runny nose all day and cough...She woke this morning at 6:00 and started shouting: "Mommy, mommy...I ran into her room and she had a bloody nose! and everytime she would sneeze, her poor little nose would bleed. My poor baby. =( Her appetite is still strong and she is still drinking fluids. I was told that there is a flu/cold virus going around. Another classmate of hers is out sick with similiar syptoms.

Drastic Times call for drastic measures...
I know I'm not the only one going through this stressful time (economy), but I need to know how I can save as much as possible!? I try to do the coupon thing, I penny pinch every item at the store, I try to make sure I grocery shop on days when I know they are having a big sale, I purchase my daughter's clothes on sale or on clearence...what else can I do?

The things children say....
Ok, so my daughter has always had a very advanced vocabulary from the moment she learned how to talk. Many times I have found myself trying to hold in the laughter as she rambles on about something she likes or dislikes. Here are some of my favorites -
Q - "Where did your stinky attitude come from?"
A - "My butt"
"Mommy, I have had enough!" (When we were snowshoeing across the meadow).
" Mommy, I don't want to take my foggin bath anymore" (I have no idea where she picked up that one?)
" Mommy, That is absolutely delicious" (In response to a dinner I made).
" Mommy!! Nabby (Our dog) took a dump on the floor!!"
When a friend once told her how beautiful she was, she replied " I know".
When she went on a trip with my parents and returned home, she ran up to me and said "Mommy, daddy, I'm all grown up now".
We were having a thunderstorm one day and she looked at me and said "Mommy, do you hear that hunder?"
My mom and I were out shopping, she was at home taking a nap and my dad was watching her, well when she woke up, she kept asking my dad where we were, finally my dad stopped answering her and she got up in his face and said "I said, are they here yet!!"

My first blog entry...
Today is February 24, 2009 at approx. 4:45p.m. I was just turned onto this through my best friend Veronnica. In four days it will be exactly one year since my husband, daughter and I moved here to Truckee, CA. We moved up here from Los Gatos, CA, which is a beautiful and very wealthy town, however we could not afford to buy a home there. We had looked at moving to the Tahoe area a couple years back and discussed it regularly and one day when my husband came home from work and found me crying because our neighbors were sooo loud and disrespectful we decided it was time. It was the most grueling move we have ever made! We moved into our new home on February 29 (Leap year), does that mean that are actual anniversary only comes around every 7 years!? ha. We arrived at our home at midnight, with six feet of snow surrounding us and about 20 degree weather. I was scheduled to start my new job the very next day at Martis Camp and had to be there at 8a.m.
and here I am still working at Martis Camp and approaching my one year anniversary! We love it here (except for missing our friends/family). It has taken some time to learn how to live in the snow, but we have managed. Ashley (our daughter) started preschool in March, 2008 at Discovery Preschool. She is doing very well, taking spanish lessons twice a week, making new friends and expanding her very bright imagination everyday. She seems to be closest to her classmates: Aaden, Aleckson, Brianna, Tatum, little Tanner, Caige and Tru. Jamie (my husband) is currently building a home in the Timilick property, which is across the street from my property. He completed a home in Lahontan back in November. Hopefully they will land a home in Martis Camp soon! This first year has been a difficult struggle for us, however I count my blessings each day and thank the Lord for my family, my home and my job!
